Clover PCI compliance: the questionnaire and the monthly fee
Clover PCI compliance usually comes down to one task: completing the annual questionnaire your processor asks for. If it is missed, a monthly non-compliance fee often appears on the statement, so it is worth finishing.
- Not a QSA, stated first
- Introductions to independent QSAs
- Written answers, no call
Why Clover merchants get asked
Clover devices are supplied through processors and banks. Therefore your processor is responsible for confirming that its merchants comply, and it asks you to complete a questionnaire each year. The standard is in the PCI SSC document library.
Clover PCI compliance fees on statements
Many processors add a monthly fee until the questionnaire is done. So check your statement for lines labelled non-compliance or similar.
- Find the fee line on your statement
- Ask your processor which form and portal to use
- Complete the questionnaire honestly
- Confirm the fee stops next month

Clover PCI compliance: which questionnaire applies
The form depends on how your Clover device connects and what else you use.
| Setup | Typical form |
|---|---|
| Clover device only | Often a short terminal form, confirmed by your processor. |
| Clover plus online orders | Online channel rules also apply. |
| Keyed card entry | Manual entry adds questions. |
Common Clover PCI compliance mistakes
Merchants often ignore the request because they assume the device handles everything. However, the questionnaire is still yours to complete. Also, writing card numbers down for later entry creates real risk.
If the portal's questions are confusing, ask your processor which answers apply to your setup. A short written reply from them is useful evidence later.
Where we help
We help you identify the right form and answer it accurately. However, we are not a QSA, and we are not affiliated with Clover or any processor.
Also save a copy of each completed questionnaire. If a fee reappears, the dated copy helps you resolve it with your processor quickly and without argument.
